David F. Sowerby, Ph.D. - Consulting

Background:

David F. Sowerby, Ph.D. is a consultant, and has been serving individuals, groups, and organizations for 37 years. Dr. Sowerby is also an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Psychology at Sonoma State University. Previously, he was an associate professor for the Depth Psychology Program and an associate professor for the School of Extended and International Education at Sonoma State University, and an adjunct faculty member at San Jose State University, John F. Kennedy University, the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, Dominican University of California, and City College of San Francisco. See below for a list of courses Dr. Sowerby has taught at the graduate and undergraduate levels at these institutions. He has served as an expert outside reader, chair, committee member, and advisor for doctoral dissertations and master's theses, and taught in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Sonoma State University. Dr. Sowerby has been interviewed on television, film, radio, podcasting programs, and for newspapers, and given guest lectures at many universities, conferences, and community centers. He has published research in the areas of intuition and hypnosis, and is the author of a book on intuition, dreams, and healing. Dr. Sowerby has worked as a psychotherapist (in Canada), academic administrator, sports instructor; served on community development councils (local and national); and played competitive sports (local, interstate, and international). He graduated from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology with a Ph.D. (Psychology) and an M.A.T.P. (Psychology), Wilfrid Laurier University with an M.S.W. (Social Work), and the University of Western Ontario with a B.A. (Psychology).
